Mijëera protestues serbë u mblodhën në qendër të Beogradit për të mbështetur kërkesën e studentëve për zgjedhje të parakohshme parlamentare. Demonstrata u organizua nga studentët të cilët, me një ultimatum drejtuar qeverisë serbe, kërkuan që shpërbërja e Parlamentit dhe shpallja e zgjedhjeve të parakohshme parlamentare të shpalleshin deri në orën 21:00.

Kur afati skadoi dhe nuk pati përgjigje, studentët njoftuan se protestat pushojnë së qënuri protesta studentore dhe u bënë thirrje qytetarëve të marrin fatin në duart e tyre. Mijëra protestues u drejtuan drejt pallatit presidencial, duke brohoritur slogane kundër Aleksandar Vuçiç.

Forca të shumta policie i penguan ata duke përdorur granata zhurmuese. Situata është e tensionuar rreth pallatit presidencial. Forca speciale të policisë me xhipa të blinduar u shfaqën në qendër të qytetit.
Tensionet janë rritur ndjeshëm përpara protestës së organizuar nga studentët e universitetit të Serbisë, një forcë kyçe pas demonstratave mbarëkombëtare kundër korrupsionit që filluan pasi u shemb një çati e rinovuar e stacionit hekurudhor, duke vrarë 16 persona më 1 nëntor.
